New and Full Moons

We 4 Wild Women have, in the past, focussed on the New Moon. We will describe what we do each month and also include what can be done for the Full Moon. There is a wealth of resources about the Moon online that you might want to also investigate (ex. How to use the Earth's 8 phases to live your best life). If this is all new to you, pick and choose what works for you and what you have time for. Our practices have evolved over many years. Starting all of this (daily gratitudes, Sunday wild writing, and new/full moon practices) within a month might be overwhelming.

To keep track of the timing of each NEW and FULL MOON, we mark the dates in our journal calendars. The journals we are using this year have them already included. Be careful to use ones specific to the area where you are. This link might be helpful.

Why work with the MOON?

The Moon has a feminine energy and represents our emotions, making it a perfect conductor of our feelings.

The NEW MOON offers us a powerful way to MANIFEST our GOALS, WISHES, and DREAMS. It offers us opportunities to establish NEW BEGINNINGS and set INTENTIONS.

In equal and opposite measure, the FULL MOON offers us time to RELEASE and REFLECT, the opportunity to purge OLD HABITS, to FORGIVE, and to CLEAR or CLEANSE, to establish a REFLECTIVE PROCESS.

If we decide to follow it, the MOON, in its cyclical way, allows us this CONTINUUM of making plans, reflecting on them, and then allowing their release, making space for new beginnings yet again. It offers us this BALANCING opportunity as it moves, and we with it, through its phases, waxing and waning.

Working with the MOON can connect you to vital inner work. It allows you to work ON your heart, working FROM your heart, and it is helps to CONNECT YOU to your mental and emotional self, reaching out beyond the self to others, to the planet.

4WW Moon Practices

Please refer to the Oracle Cards blog post to remind yourself how to properly use your cards.

NEW MOON: New Beginnings

Setting intentions for yourself

Manifesting goals, wishes and dreams

On the date of the NEW MOON, in a quiet space with your oracle deck and your journal;

1. CLEANSE your deck.

2. FOCUS and ASK yourself these questions. Remember to be grounded and clear.

What do I intend for myself this Moon cycle?

What are my specific goals and intentions?

What steps can I take to achieve them?

3. DRAW your card.

4. READ, RECORD, and REFLECT on your card. Read the explanation and information

and WISDOM your drawn card imparts from the accompanying booklet or the card

itself. Record your card name and relevant info that speaks to you in your journal.

Keep the questions you asked in mind as you write. Don’t worry if nothing is sparked.

Make a record of what you’ve uncovered. Meaning may be revealed to you later.

FULL MOON: Release and Reflect

Purging old habits, forgiving, clearing and cleansing

On the date of the FULL MOON, in a quiet space with your oracle deck and your journal;

1. CLEANSE your deck.

2. FOCUS and ASK yourself these questions. Remember to be grounded and clear.

Who or what do I need to forgive in my life to move on?

What habits/emotions/people/things do I need to release in my life?

Often journals provide questions as prompts for reflection at the end of each month, at the end of each quarter, and then at the end of the year. We tend to use these areas of our journal to do the New Moon (and Full Moon) work and to summarize gratitudes from the month/quarter/year. We pick and choose the questions that work for us – and that is different for each of us. Within all of our 4WW Practices, we are all individuals and among the 4 of us, there are always 4 different spins on everything we do. And we celebrate that.

Remember, this is YOUR journey. Do what works for you. If you have never worked with the Moon before, give it a try. She is powerful. And, as always, please feel free to share your experiences and provide us with feedback.
